Hey Stork Club - What's this about cover bands at your venue.
Is it true?
Yes. A theme night just for you party bands.
But isn't the Stork Club an all-original rock venue?
Yes honey, it most certainly is! That's why we ask for super performance
bands with a hook- like tribute bands, GLAM-bands, 80's hair bands,
costumes, makeup, dancers, hi-camp, brass sections, tansgendered- whatever
makes you so great- bring it on!
This is sounding better, exactly when is
The SECOND SATURDAY of every month starting September 13th.
Shows start at 10 PM and end at 1:30 AM.
How many bands will play and how much material do we need?
Resident and hosting band SECOND DATE is inviting one other band per
month as their guest to play a 90 minute set. So it's just the two of
you. (Less money to split!)
How can I find out more about who SECOND DATE is?
You're already here at their site- take a look around to learn more.
That's cool ... but how do we get payed?
By the door. There's a $5 cover charge. www.storkcluboakland.com
-click onto "Policies", or just go straight here.
Be smart and read everything. "Hospitality" (#3) talks about
your pay. Please don't clog the bookers email with questions that already
have the answers under "Policies".
A reminder to you- should you get booked, please keep your "guest
list" as close to ZERO as possible. The more people you let in
for free, the less everyone gets paid. Your friends and fans want to
support you so it's really "OK" to have them pay at the door.
Once booked, if you've invited media to your show, the Stork Club will
place them on the house guest list. We only wanna see your grandmother's
name on the guest list - or close to it! Get use to getting payed!
Wow. Is it alright if our bass player swallows swords while
he plays "Funkytown" or our 3 semi-clad badass dancers shake
it to Mambo #5?
Uh, ... sure! We like that kinda stuff. Cover bands coming in should
try and dress their show up as much as possible. But remember, you're
at a rock club now - not a wedding - so now's the time to finally make
use of those ripped up fishnets you have or that super sleazy, sequin
pink and orange corset without the fear of upstaging the bride or pissing
off her conservative tightassed mother. No fire tricks though, the punk
bands that ravaged the stage the night before you may've already emptied
the contents of the fire extinguisher on their lead guitarist.
Tight. How do we get booked?
